I still have to work out where to put it. I think I will abandon my plans to keep a tank to grow out my GT, which means I will have to move that fish on. In a 120 I think it could live with my o and keep growing, but I don't think my jd will help. It could work though, with plenty of hider holes I guess.

they are a mix of fish that would be likely to cause hassles forever, but no saying it can't be done.
why not keep a grow out tank in the stand of the 120?

Never know until you try. When my GT was VERY small I put him in with both of my Os and he lived and even grew WAY faster than any other GT i have seen due to all the food he cleaned up after the Os I guess lol. He would follow them around and eat whatever flew out of their gills.

@ Tim I believe he built a sump to go under the 120Gal, right?

not a 4' sump ;)
on second thought, use a massive sump and let the GT live in there :fro:

It will be hidden inside the cabinet though, seems pretty pointless.

One day Blake, I will get you. You won't know when, you won't know how...But i'll get you >:(
here is the tank & sump with skimmer.
Image
Overflow...I took out the bulkhead. The guy I bought it off said he would put a second, bigger bulkhead in to improve flow, but flow with one hole would be vastly superior if it had a pvc system. He was using a ribbed hose so it didn't perform to capacity.
Image
What I would like is to glue a bit of glass over the hole in the bottom and drill a 30mm hole in each side so I can plumb it with two 20mm (3/4") bulkheads and pvc down to the sump. I'd prefer this so it can sit closer to the wall, rather than have a bigger bulkhead and elbow on the back panel only. Not sure if it's practical or even possible yet though.
