Anchor Worm

Well, i noticed today one of my moba gibbs, has what looks like an anchor worm. Not sure though, because it doesnt have a red sore. It looks like a scale fell off and what looks like a small white wormish thing is there. I had these fish shipped in from another state via air cargo, im assuming its from the stress. What can i use for a cure?

Wild-caught or tank-bred?
Possible they weren't properly QTed if wild-caught,so a round of Clout or Praziquantel may be called for.

Male is wild caught. But not recently. About a year ago. I have prazi pro, will that work?

Prazi Pro is liquid Praziquantel so yes it should work fine. While it is more for internal parasites it is geared towards worms and flukes and since it is usually used as an in-tank treatment it should get them.
It doesn't hurt to "worm" fish ocassionally as a preventative maintenance step.Especially any wild-caughts or fish housed with them.

Now, im having trouble understanding the dosage for the liquid prazi pro. It only has directions on how to treat as a bath. Anyone know the dosage off hand?

It's a simple google...
"Start treatment with as large a water change as practical or start with new water. Any water used should first be conditioned to remove ammonia, chlorine and chloramines. Do not stop filtration, but remove activated carbon and stop foam-fractionation (protein skimming) and UV sterilization.

Shake vigorously before use. Measure at the rate of one (1) teaspoon per 20 gallons of water to be treated (One (1) fl. oz. per 120 gallons). This produces a concentration of 2.5 mg/L. Distribute the proper amount around the edge of the aquarium or directly into the filter box to achieve the best overall distribution.

A single treatment lasting 5-7 days is normally sufficient. Repeat as necessary, but no more than once every 3 to 5 days. May be used as a preventive, at the standard application, when disease is likely. Do not use with other drugs or disease treatments. May cause temporary foaming."

are you sure it is a worm??? detached scale means rough shipping, thus it may be just a skin membrane.
you said scale off, so please consider. i am not fond of medicating!

so, ive been looking at pics of anchor worm. It looks like there is suppose to be a red sore on the fishes skin where the worm is attached. But theres no sores on mine, could it be something else?
