Fin rot?

Postby fishysocks2012 » Sun Feb 07, 2010 11:07 pm

Alright, im noticing some slits in my oscars dorsal fins, and some deteriation on their anal fins. i dont know if it is a disease or the crawfish picking on them.ive been trying to get pics, but i cant get them clear enough.

Hi :) ,is the nitrate 00ppm a typing mistake? It's just that there should be a nitrate reading if your tank is cycled.

Did you keep any old media?

That looks like damage to me.

At this point I would add salt as per this article viewtopic.php?f=26&t=15645 :fro:

yes, the part on his anal fin appears to be. but on their very back fins, (and i might be seeing things but i might have noticed it on my sd's) their is some fraying , and the fins are light on the outside going in.

i dont think its fraying, now. i think i was just being paranoid.it appears to be just becuse the skin on the fins reaching in is white, as you can see in the pic.
