Odyssea CFS 500 Canister Filter Mod

Postby Floyd_Crook » Sat Feb 11, 2012 8:50 pm

Thanks again to members for all the advice regarding filtration vs powerheads - I decided to get the best of both worlds hopefully with the Odyssea CFS 500 canister filter. I will be doing the mod posted on the web by CWO4GUNNER here at: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/sh ... dification Looks like a great mod but I am still puzzled as to what type (weight, loft, cotton or 100% polyester) of poly batting gunner uses to wrap the filter sponges with - does anyone know exactly what type of poly batting he is using (any suggestions)?

Powehead vs More Filtration

Looks like regular 100% polyester batting for quilting to me.
You'd never use cotton in a filter unless you wanted to change it regularly...the poly will last indefinitely as long as a lot of fine particles aren't collecting in it.
Just think about it.
