Powerhead placement

Postby MrIan1077 » Tue Mar 27, 2012 1:49 pm

I took out my 2 bubblewands because,my oscars would love to rip them up.Now I put an Aqua Clear powerhead 70 in the tank.I have it mounted in the back directly in the center.I have 2-110 Aqua Clear filters on either side with a Rena Filstar Xp2 in the corner as well.Is this a good spot to put the powerhead? If not, what would be you recommendation? It's a 75 gallon tank with 2 healthy adult oscars.

Sounds like the perfect spot exactly where I have mine. I guess that old axiom is right. Great minds think alike. :)

Sounds good.Really the only logical spot for it :fro:

2-110 Aqua Clear filters on either side with a Rena Filstar Xp2 in the corner as well.

My kind of filtration
Just think about it.

I love to go OVERBOARD on filtration.People always ask why so much filtration?I tell them that I have 2 puppy dogs in a tank?   You ought to see their faces after I say that.I explain that I have 2 oscars and they need all of that.

Should have seen their faces when I hooked the pool filter to the 135g for some flow tests.Of course, now I have a bigger pool filter to play with ;D
Just think about it.

I get the same effect with over 1000 gph of canister filtration in my 125. I prefer almost too much circulation in big cichlid tanks.

Moving this to General as it's more of a circulation/placement question than a review.

Melissa...eat your heart out guys...actually suggested setting the 135g up on the porch with the filter off the current pool for a while so I can sort filtration systems.
Note: See porch ;D

She's a keeper
