New Message Notification

question for admins... you know how you get the pop up notification that you have new message(s) when you sign in... if someone sends you a PM while you are still logged on, you wont get another pop up notification until the next time you sign in, and unless you know to look at your "my messages" icon (newbies), you wont see the message til next time you log in... is there a way to get that pop up notification when you refresh a new screen or while browsing the site? that would be a good help when you are trying to get in touch with somoene who is currently logged on.
