Make your own food cubes

For those of you who make your own food here's a way to make it into cubes that are easier to handle and feed to your fish.
Take some plastic egg crate (used for ceiling lights) and cut it to whatever size you'd like. I cut mine so they would fit easilly in a small zip lock bag for storage later. Lay the egg crate on cookie sheets and spoon in the food mixture. Put the whole thing in the freezer, once frozen the cubes can be popped out and stored in zip lock bags.

That is what we call egg crates here in the US. We buy them at the hardware store.

Here in states they are used for lights that are installed in drop ceilings they are available in 2'x4' sheets and run about 6 or 7 dollars at the local home goods stores.

na we dont get them here in the uk just eggs in cardboard boxes you could do a rip roaring trade in sell those you would have to eat a hell lota eggs though lol

So an O will eat froozen food? Would it not melt after a few seconds in the tank and just gunk up your tank? Sorry never have heard o making you own food?

Yes they will eat frozen food. With my O's the foods not in there long enough for it to gunk up the tank. The great thing about making your own is you can get your O to eat veggies it's also less expensive.
