55g. The 30g came down after the heater fiasco, but this pair had already been moved (why I still have them).
Just the pair, old brood (about 10),new brood (about 1500 best guess),1 little 3/4" guy from about 4 broods back (found his own cave to hold down),and the female Chuco.
The Convict pair/Chuco works as the Cons hold the 1.5 sq/ft area with their cave and the Chuco gets the rest. I'm going to try and net out the larger last brood, and move to the old 30g,and then try to get the larger juvi as soon as he outgrows his cave so it won't turn into a net chase/redecorate type of thing.
Just think about it.

I guess that makes you the first fish daddy of 2012. ;D About how long do they go between spawning?

That'd be "fish daddy" 3-4X since Jan. 1st,don't count the spawns anymore, but anyone can have the title with Convicts.
Any takers ???

Time's averaging 3 weeks.Suppose to take longer tending fry but they have a bad habit of spawning and tending fry at the same time.Just redundant to post every spawn.
The Chuco is getting fat.
Just think about it.

I do like a good looking con, but I'm sure my tiger o would object. I think first I would like a firemouth or even a thorichthys maculipinnis, although I have never seen one except in TFH magazine.

...back on topic, I can't believe that they breed that often! Although, I think now the Chuco would miss it. ;D

Nice...also look for it under T. ellioti.Easier to find, case of scientific name problems. Partial to T. pasionis myself.
Just think about it.

If it's on top of the flat rock in the pics it's a Convict :juggle:

Absolutely.....I had a pair of pink convicts and then had many. Now in my 20 gallon I have a pair of black convicts that breed like crazy.Just add water is all you have to do and they'll do the rest. The convicts aren't picky about anything and they're feisty little fish.

:lmao: :lmao: I truly believe if they could live in cold water, cons would be considered an "invasive species".
